An infamous '90s Hollywood story, and subject of the documentary 'The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?' in 2015, multiple factors behind the scenes led Warner Bros. to cancel the production just weeks away from its filming start date in 1998. Cage admitted to ET the next year that he had 'completely walked away' from the project, which already had concept art and costume tests devoted to him taking on the Man of Steel.
