Victoria’s Secret announced this week it was bringing back its swimwear program. L Brands, the owner of Victoria’s Secret, apparently felt otherwise. L Brands, which also includes the Bath & Body Works retail division, has shown declining comp stores sales in the Victoria's Secret brand for some time, including the period since the catalog was stopped. It was the cost of printing the catalog that the company said was a key reason for discontinuing it. The Victoria’s Secret catalog was probably used for many things, some of which had nothing to do with selling lingerie.
