'Very angry': White Island survivor lashes out over rescue delays

A survivor of the Whakaari/White Island eruption, who lost her sister and father, says more people would have survived if help came sooner. "I'm upset at the whole situation, but I'm very angry that it took so long for the rescue to come," Browitt told Four Corners. White Island tour operators carry out a rescue operation on the island. After landing at Whakatāne, a 20-minute flight from the volcano, Browitt was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Yet to speak with New Zealand police about the eruption, Browitt was hoping to "talk about it" and let everything out.
