The Vernon Panthers knew when to pounce. 1 Panthers early in the third quarter in the Subway Bowl Double A football provincial final Saturday at B.C. The Panthers, led by quarterback Zack Smith, would then start chewing up game clock and yardage. Vernon was 10-1 last season, losing an exhibition game to the Triple A Terry Fox Ravens by a 50-7 count. The Panthers beat the Robert Bateman Timberwolves 48-12 in last year’s Double A finale.
