That's their content play for getting you loyal to Verizon (lowering churn) by offering you free video to watch on your Verizon phone. T-Mobile (TMUS) and Sprint (S) give you unlimited data, lessening the value of zero-rated video content from Verizon. If they get government approval this year, you'll be able to stream Game of Thrones and all the other Time Warner content on your AT&T phone for free. Suddenly, watching NFL or NBA games on your Verizon phones, along with Awesomeness TV content doesn't seem to cut it. At the next off-site, Verizon executives really need to think hard about how they will differentiate themselves from a content perspective moving forward.
