Olaleye Aluko, AbujaThe Vice-Chancellor of Veritas University, Abuja, Prof. Michael Kwanashie, has decried the “underfunding of tertiary institutions in the country,” noting that education was an expensive business and the government needed to do more. Kwanashie, who said the government must also build human capacity in tertiary institutions, noted that the university produced 11 First Class Honours in 2017. He said, “The university system today complains about lack of funds from the government. Although you have Tertiary Education Trust Fund doing some projects, universities insist that the government is not doing enough. At Veritas, we are doing our best to produce the standard quality of thoroughly-bred graduates.
