KUALA LUMPUR: The restaurant where US singer-songwriter Maggie Lindemann was arrested says a third-party agent told them all permits and visas for her performance had been obtained and in good order. The restaurant concerned, The Bee, said this was the fault of a third-party agent who was supposed to obtain the permits, not the organisers of the show. The Bee also said that the singer was detained overnight, and was released in "less than 24 hours" after her arrest. Earlier, it was reported that Lindemann was arrested on June 21 by Immigration Department officers for performing without proper passes. On Thursday (July 4), singer-songwriter Lindemann tweeted a statement regarding the arrest.
