“It was a project born from the dark days under lockdown,” says Monica Cesarato, a local food blogger who developed the idea for the Anima Veneziana film. The short film will follow a day in the life of Venice, “where all categories of its citizens will appear,” she says. Venice is not dead and I wanted people to see that.”Rather than iconic but impersonal drone images, the film will show Venice at “street-level”. Helping Cesarato to realize her film are Romena Brugnerotto, a tourist guide and Venetian blogger, Federico Bizzarini, a Venetian Film Director, and Lorenzo Pezzano, Director of photography. Cesarato concludes, “The objective of the film is to promote the city of Venice, a Venice that must be discovered in-depth, that cannot be ‘done’ in a couple of days.”
