Fire crews are attending an incident at Bluff Highway following reports of a transformer on fire. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said firefighters were alerted to the blaze near the McGorlick St intersection about 1.30pm. One fire appliance from Bluff attended where a 40m by 60m vegetation fire was discovered, he said. Fire crews battle a fire near Bluff. Fire crews later confirmed it was not a transformer on fire, but there could be a link between the vegetation blaze and a power source.
