A man has issued a warning over vaping after his device 'spontaneously started erupting', leaving him with serious burns to his leg. New Zealander Matthew Bijl, 34, was at a work barbeque earlier this month when he felt his jeans pocket heat up. The vape had erupted in his jeans, leaving him with a trail of burnt skin down his leg. After the adrenaline wore off, Mr Bijl rushed to a local hospital, describing the pain as a '9.5 out of 10.' He added the issue was 'complex' as staff had identified damage to the wraps and liquid underneath the wraps on the batteries.
