Vanderbilt sophomore wing Aaron Nesmith, who entered the weekend as the nation’s top 3-point shooter and fifth-leading scorer, is likely out for the season because of a stress fracture in his right foot, coach Jerry Stackhouse said Saturday. The school announced before the game that he was out with a foot injury but at that time did not confirm a report from the school newspaper, the Vanderbilt Hustler, that Nesmith’s season likely was over. Nesmith watched the game from the bench, wearing a walking boot for protection and using a scooter to keep weight off the foot. The 6-foot-6 Nesmith is averaging 23.0 points in 14 games, making 60 of 115 3-pointers (52.2 percent). Three walk-ons played in the game against Texas A&M.
