In the dying seconds of their first-round game against Northwestern, Vanderbilt guard Matthew Fisher-Davis made a crucial mistake. For some reason, Fisher-Davis intentionally fouled a Northwestern player while Vanderbilt was up by one. A last ditch long-ball from Vanderbilt's Riley LaChance with one second remaining wouldn't go, and Northwestern walked away with their first-ever March Madness win.
