Sim will be the city’s first Chinese mayor and first mayor of color. CBC CA reports that Sim won by a commanding margin over incumbent Kennedy Stewart. Sim was born in Vancouver in 1970 to two Hong Kong immigrants who came to Canada in 1967 with just $3,200, Vancouver Sun reports. Sim is a member of the center-right ABC Vancouver party. The ABC Vancouver party wants to hire 100 new police officers and increase council presence on the police board.
