The incident occurred on the Khulna-Satkhira highway in the Baniakhali area of Dumuria upazila in the district on Sunday, when a bus collided head-on with a pickup van. Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Dumuria police station, said the accident took place around 9am. A Khulna-bound bus from Koyra hit the fish-laden pickup van coming from the opposite direction, killing the pickup van driver on the spot and injuring seven others. The injured have been taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
