PUTRAJAYA: A van driver (pic) who was being investigated in a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) probe over a vice den protection racket in Melaka has been released on bail. Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tansim Wan Ab Rahman allowed the release of the 32-year-old on a RM100,000 bail with one surety. The van driver was one of 13 individuals detained by the MACC in an investigation into police protection of massage parlours and illegal gambling dens in Melaka. Among the individuals arrested in the probe were two district police chiefs, two assistant superintendents, two inspectors and a corporal. Only an assistant superintendent remains in MACC custody while the others have been released following the expiry of their remands.
