Virgil van Dijk wants to join Liverpool this summer and the Anfield club will now attempt to negotiate a world-record deal for a defender with Southampton. Southampton have said the Holland international is not for sale, but Liverpool are prepared to test that resolve with an offer that could rise to around £60 million.
