Tabakh MaazSrinagar, Feb. 21: The Mehbooba Mufti-led government has decided to restrict the number of mutton preparations served at weddings to seven, in a move that would strike a number of dishes off Kashmir's famed wazwan - the traditional multi-course feast for guests. Abdul Rashid Baba, a chef, or waza as chefs are locally called, said more than two dozen dishes, mostly mutton, are served to baratis (guests who accompany the groom) at lavish weddings. The number is more than seven even at modest weddings, he added. "We are invoking CrPC provisions under which any splurge on dishes or guests is punishable. "We have directed the deputy commissioners of all districts to implement the order with zeal," he added.
