A protester aims at soldiers with stones in Srinagar on Friday. (AFP)Srinagar, Feb. 18: Stone-throwers today forced security forces to wind up an operation in a village where militants were rumoured to have been trapped, cocking a snook at the army chief for the second day running. He added: "Mobs attacked us with stones, after which the operation was called off." Instances are growing of mobs attacking the forces during anti-militant operations to distract them and give the rebels a chance to escape. Yesterday, hundreds had defied Rawat by waving Pakistani and Lashkar flags on Srinagar's streets, triggering clashes with the forces.
