Officials of Valenzuela City went to the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela to personally deliver the P4-million assistance for typhoon-affected families. Mayor Rex Gatchalian told The Manila Times that the team was led by his brother, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilor Rovin Feliciano and representatives from the Social Welfare and Development Office. Aside from the cash assistance, the team also gave rice to the cities and municipalities badly affected by the typhoon. The city government earlier gave some P6 million in financial assistance to the typhoon victims in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes in the Bicol Region.
