The statue, made from metal scrap and installed in 2017, has been shifted to Harni Sculpture Park to make way for a city-based foundation to beautify the chakra on the theme of yoga. Rockstar Circle was one of several scrap metal sculptures installed in the city in 2017. The shifting of the establishment came only a month after Maharaja Sayajirao University Chancellor Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad criticized the metal sculptures at a “Reimagining Vadodara” symposium on 1 May. In his address, Gaikwad had called the scrap metal sculptures “immoral” and said that the VMC has “removed beautiful installations that represent Vadodara and replaced them with scrap metal that are unattractive and unnatural”.
