Vaccine acceptance shoots up in some African countries after Omicron discovery - report

A new report says vaccine acceptance in Guinea, Morocco, Mozambique, Tunisia and Zimbabwe is now above 90%. Vaccine acceptance has shot up in Africa Union (AU) member states since the discovery of the Omicron variant, a new study claims. "In five surveyed countries - Guinea, Morocco, Mozambique, Tunisia and Zimbabwe - acceptance was 90% or higher. Vaccine acceptance was high among both those who trusted their government's pandemic response and those who felt Covid-19 posed a personal risk to them or to their country," the report stated. The high rate of vaccine tolerance in these countries contradicted that low vaccine uptake in Africa was because of hesitancy.
