Pictures by Mayukh SenguptaVIP Road: The VIP Road saw massive traffic snarls on Monday as most of the road has been shut to traffic for the construction of pedestrian subways at Golaghata and Sreebhumi. On Monday, traffic crawled in the service lane as buses, taxis, cars and two-wheelers took up every inch of road space. The snarl in the service lane stretched to the middle of the VIP Road-Ultadanga flyover. Traffic woes are likely to continue for a couple of months as workers dig up the cordoned portion of the VIP Road to lay the foundation of the subways. Work started in last June and the service lane running parallel to the VIP Road had been shut to traffic for several months.
