In a video doing rounds on social media, Kuria says Kenya should produce counterfeit goods because that is how China’s manufacturing industry grew. ​The legislator singled out Trade CS Peter Munya for frustrating efforts of Kenyans who import counterfeit products yet the government has not put up factories to manufacture the said goods locally. Our phones will not contract diseases…“If you cannot show us a local factory that manufactures those goods, let our people import them from China,” he said. Kuria added that China has grown over the years due to her prowess in making counterfeit products. He added that despite having several Cabinet Secretaries from Mt Kenya region holding ‘good’ dockets, the region has not benefitted from the Presidency.
