As Venezuela struggles through an economic and political crisis there is an inconvenient truth about the roots of the crises that is rarely talked about. So we delved deep, and we found a lot. In this video we discuss Juan Guaido’s ties to a U.S. funded opposition group called CANVAS or Otpor, the United States’ long history of backing coups in Latin America and around the world, the financial impact of U.S. sanctions on Venezuela, Guaido’s eagerness to privatize Venezuela’s state-owned oil company and much more. What’s lost in most mainstream media discussions of Venezuela is the long-running and highly disruptive influences of the United States in Venezuela. While the United States is outraged that Russia waged a social media war on the U.S. during the 2016 election, U.S. officials conveniently overlook when we do the very same thing in other countries.
