more-inThe Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court has directed the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) to register a case against Manoj Abraham, Inspector General of Police, in a complaint of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. The investigation officer is required to report the progress of the investigation in every three months. The complainant alleged Mr. Abraham of having unholy nexus with the quarry mafia and misused his position to stop action against illegal quarrying in Pathanamthitta. Earier, a quick verification (QV) on the allegations by the VACB in Ernakulam found that the excess wealth of the officer was just 0.25 per cent of his known sources of income. The complainant, however, filed a detailed objection to the calculations in the report, terming it unreasonable and incorrect.
