Rachael Utumapu was the first female career firefighter in the New Plymouth brigade. And it’s her work with FENZ, alongside her volunteering with Look Good Feel Better, and the New Hair Project for people with cancer, that has seen her awarded a Queen’s Service Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Between her work and helping others on a personal basis outside of work it’s a ‘’really nice mix for me’’.
