Uttar Pradesh government orders removal of unauthorised loudspeakers


The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered the removal of unauthorised loudspeakers from religious and public places in the state. The government has directed officials to identify the places with unauthorised loudspeakers by January 10 and issue notices to defaulters. The officials have been asked to form a team and conduct surveys at religious places and markets where loudspeakers are installed. Kumar said similar orders had also been issued for baraats, political or religious processions, social or promotional events or any other programme where loudspeakers are used. He said loudspeakers installed at public places could not have the sound level of more than 10 decibel above the ambient noise level and five decibel above ambient noise level at the periphery of private place.
