A senior IAS officer was found dead near State Guest House on Meerabai road in Lucknow's Hazratganj area today. Anurag Tiwari, a Karnataka cadre IAS officer of 2007-batch, was appointed as the Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies in Uttar Pradesh. AK Shahi, Inspector of Hazratganj Police Station, said some passers-by informed the police after spotting him lying on the road.
