The Government of Uttar Pradesh had earlier reopened schools for classes 9 to 12 and now it is likely to reopen schools for classes 6 to 8 from September 1. According to a local daily, Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath has directed officials to begin the process of admission for classes 6 to 8 under the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council. The Uttar Pradesh government has also issued rules and restrictions in regards to the reopening of schools for classes 6 to 8. Several adjacent states to Uttar Pradesh have reopened schools for senior classes at 50 per cent capacity. Delhi too reopened schools partially for classes 10 and 12 on August 9.
