'Useless piece of property': N.S. widow feels duped by Norris Point land swap

A widow in Sydney, N.S., is accusing a town council in Newfoundland of "duping" her into swapping beachfront property for a useless piece of land that can't be developed. The Bonne Bay Marine Station in Norris Point had its official opening in 2002. Shirley Barnes swapped beachfront property for other plots of land in Norris Point. Norris Point officials did not address a CBC News email outlining Oram's prior experiences with the same piece of land. While Norris Point town officials are not commenting on the matter now, it appears to have been raised at an Aug. 17, 2016, council meeting.
