The country faces a huge challenge, including increasing job losses as companies struggle to stay afloat and poverty levels rise. I fully welcome and endorse the Sh54 billion stimulus package recently unveiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta. In this stimulus package, the government plans to hire 200,000 young people to clean up their towns and informal settlements. The potential of idle youth need to be harnessed productively. With the damage by the recent rains, labour will be required to rehabilitate access roads, footbridges and other public infrastructure.
