The caller who claimed to be Safaricom's customer care had instructed her to go to the nearest Mpesa agent then call him so that he would communicate with the agent on how to retrieve the lady's cash. The Mpesa agent realised that it was a call from a con man and she believed that the student was part of the scheme which led her into beating her up.
