KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Social activist Sabita Upreti, who has worked for children with autism, has been selected for the International Women of Courage Award-2023 by the Human Rights Council of India. The award will be presented at the 13th International Human Rights Summit to be held in New Delhi, India on the occasion of the United Nations International Human Rights Day on December 10. This award is the most prestigious human rights award of the Human Rights Council. Sabita Upreti has been working for autistic children for 13 years by establishing the Special School and Rehabilitation Center (SSDRC). Upreti has also received the Janasewa Shree Medal (for social service) from the Government of Nepal and the National Youth Talent Award (for social service and education) awarded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
