Parts of Hamilton may get up to 45 cm of snow this weekend, as a "severe" winter storm brings high winds and heavy snow across the region. Snowfalls will vary, but Hamilton will likely get 20 to 40 cm of snow —possibly 45 cm in some places, said Environment Canada meteorologist Peter Kimbell. Some places already have 25 cm of snow, Kimbell said, and they are expecting another 10 to 15 cm this evening. "It's a severe winter storm, no question about it," Kimbell said, adding that the worst of the snow will likely be this evening. Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning, and libraries, museums and school buildings have shut down.
