Tertiary students and staff in Palmerston North will have to be vaccinated for Covid-19 to be on campus next year, although online study will remain an option for the unvaccinated. Massey University and polytech UCOL have brought in Covid-19 vaccine mandates where people will have to be vaccinated to be on campus. David Unwin/Stuff Massey University vice-chancellor Jan Thomas says Massey has an obligation to protect the university whānau. Massey’s decision about its vaccine policy will be reviewed in November. A UCOL spokeswoman said the institute wanted everyone to be confident they could go to campuses safely and minimise the risk of transmitting the disease.
