University of Regina Rams running back Kyle Borsa has received a 16-month suspension for an anti-doping rule violation. The sanction was announced by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, which revealed that a urine sample collected Oct. 16 contained higenamine, a prohibited beta-2 agonist. According to the CCES report, Borsa failed the test “because he had taken a pre-workout supplement called Allmax Impact Igniter,” which he purchased at a Regina supplement store. Until then, Borsa is ineligible to participate in any capacity — including training — with the U of R Rams or Cougars. In eight games last season, Borsa rushed for 613 yards (third-best in Canada West) and six touchdowns (first in the conference).
