A priest at the University of Oxford was told to resign after allegations of grooming and misconduct were made against him by a student. Father Damian Howard, who was appointed as a Senior Chaplain at the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy (OUCC) in 2023, has left the organisation after the 'vulnerable' student came forward with allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour. Howard was the Provincial Superior of Jesuits in Britain, the leading role in the organisation, for six years before moving to the OUCC. As well as stepping back from the OUCC, Howard has also had his Honorary Fellowship at Campion Hall revoked. The University of Oxford declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Mail, saying Father Howard was not a university employee.
