(Icon Sportswire via AP Images)University of Louisville President James Ramsey will step down and the school’s governing board will be reorganized under a leadership shake-up that Kentucky Gov. “Upon a legal restructure of the Board of Trustees at the University of Louisville, I will immediately offer, to the newly appointed board, my resignation/retirement as President of the University of Louisville,” he said in a statement to the university community. And in February, Louisville self-imposed a one-year NCAA tournament ban on its basketball team, stemming from the allegations of wrongdoing regarding the prostitution scandal. A university spokesman said Ramsey would not have any comment on the leadership shakeup beyond his statement to the community. Bevin said at a news conference in Frankfort that he is appointing an interim board of trustees to oversee a public university that has weathered a period of extended turmoil, with controversies involving sports, financial issues, the board and the president.
