NewsThe University Trade Union Joint Committee held a protest in Colombo today demanding authorities take steps to implement a gazette notification to increase salaries of university non-academic staff. The protestors noted that though a gazette notification has been issued to increase salaries of non-academic staff, no salary increase has been made thus far. The protest march began from opposite the University of Visual and Performing Arts and made its way to the University Grants Commission (UGC). The protestors then held a rally in front of the UGC.
