The bridge was closed to road and pedestrian traffic on Monday and will remain closed until August. Flood-protection work linked to the bridge is part of the final stage of the Otago Regional Council's Leith flood protection scheme, which is expected to cost more than $30million. Eight bus stops in the area will be temporarily closed.
