University Hospital Galway (UHG) is the most overcrowded hospital in Ireland this Wednesday according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation. UHG was followed by University Hospital Limerick (with 78 people waiting for a bed), Cork University Hospital (73) and Sligo University Hospital (53). Meanwhile, a total of 30 people were reported waiting for a bed in Portiuncula Hospital, the second public hospital in County Galway. Nationwide, 670 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch. 419 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 251 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
