Unity of Muslim world is now more import­ant than everFAISALABAD: President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has sparked the ire of the global Muslim community. While the sentiments of the Muslim Ummah towards the Holy site of Masjid-e-Aqsa are undeniably purest, what would be done by these Muslim nations to counter the move is yet to be seen. In Pakistan, the National Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution condemning the US move, but is that enough? The unity of the Muslim world is now more important than ever. Keeping their differences aside, they need to stand united and do whatever it takes for the reversal of the US move of recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, be it raising voice at international forums or severing diplomatic or trade ties with the Trump administration.
