A United Airlines scheduled flight out of New York bound for Rome has been forced to make a precautionary return to New York Newark Airport. United Airlines flight UA510 New York – RomeUnited Airlines flight UA510, a Boeing 777-200ER operating a transatlantic service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Rome made a precautionary return less than an hour after departure. The aircraft executed a decent to below 10,000 feet and made a precautionary return to New York Newark (EWR) at the reduced altitude of 9,000 feet. Flight UA510 did not declare a formal emergency, and the aircraft subsequently initiated a direct return to the departure airport, having made the descent to lower altitude. The aircraft then proceeded on flight plan track normally, before experiencing problems as it approached Halifax, Nova Scotia at cruising altitude FL370.
