Group describes deal as ‘transformational’Healthcare services firm Uniphar has bought the Limerick-based tech provider TouchStore, which provides dispensing and retail management software to pharmacies across Ireland. In Ireland, Uniphar controls the Hickey’s, McCauley, Allcare and Life Pharmacy chains. A stockmarket-listed company, Uniphar said the acquisition will provide “long-term backing” for TouchStore’s product roadmap and continued innovation to support the Irish community pharmacy sector. It says its software can deliver an increase of up to 6pc on pharmacy retail sales, and provide for efficient management of stock. “Combining our supply-chain expertise with dispensing and retail management software creates a compelling proposition, which will enable pharmacies to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve ordering and stock management,” he said.
