KUCHINGL: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) may become the first higher education institution in the country to fully apply the integrated cumulative grade point average (iCGPA) assessment in all its faculties. Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said unlike Unimas, there were other public universities that adopted iCGPA at selected faculties since the assessment system was introduced about two years ago. “If UNIMAS is the first university in the country that has fully implemented iCGPA, it means that the university is the first higher education institution to have embraced such assessment system. “This is because, Malaysia is the first country in the world that introduced the iCGPA assessment system,” he told reporters after opening Unimas Silver Jubilee Conference Wednesday. “I am fascinated to witness how Unimas managed to capitalises the Quick Response Code (QR Code) to store information of university students.
