"The officer asked if the 16 year old girl, a girl who is a victim of gang rape, had a habit of engaging in group sex parties." The adolescent's lawyer, Eloisa Samy, alleged that Thiers approached the case with machismo and misogyny, treating rape as a minor offense. The victim was raped in the early morning hours of May 21st, in the São José Operário slum complex located in Rio's west zone. The investigation began after a video of the girl, naked and unconscious, appeared on social media on Tuesday (24).
