KUALA LUMPUR: Uncertainty over whether Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad would hand over the premiership to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has affected investors’ confidence, says Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin. According to the former Umno Youth leader, many local and international investors whom he had met, said that political and power transition issues had held them back from investing in Malaysia. Because, if there isn’t a clear timeline that states when the power transition would take place, businesses do not invest. Anwar also said that Dr Mahathir had told him that he will fulfil his promise to hand over the reins. In his speech, Khairy also criticised Pakatan Harapan for not addressing climate change in Budget 2020.
