There’s often a long held rivalry between soap fans and football fans when the sport knocks the beloved episodes of our serial dramas out of the schedule. But that rare combination of football fan and Emmerdale fan is in for a treat as iconic football pundit Chris Kamara has joined the cast for a cameo appearance in an upcoming storyline. A big village football match sees the villagers’ competitiveness put to the test, especially when Doug and Jimmy played hear who the opposition manager is. Chris Kamara said: ‘I watch Emmerdale with my wife and my son, in fact my son is a massive Emmerdale fan so if I was coming down, they had to come too. With Chris’ football expertise, he certainly manages to ruffle a few feathers with our newly formed Woolpack football team’.
