An unauthorised drone flying in a dangerous area has caused delays at Queenstown Airport. Queenstown tower controllers spotted the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) about 3.50pm on Wednesday, airborne near the Lake Hayes end of the Queenstown Airport runway. According to civil aviation rules, UAVs must not be flown within four kilometres of any airport without permission from air traffic control. Airways reported the incident to police, who could not locate the person flying the UAV.
