KUALA LUMPUR: Umno must iron out internal issues for it to face the 14th General Election in a stronger position, party vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said. The deputy prime minister said concerted efforts were being taken to address lingering internal issues and problems in certain constituencies. He said Umno members must unite and set aside personal interests to strengthen the party and win the polls comfortably. Zahid said Umno would also need to use more wisdom to disarm political opponents in the run-up to the election. On Umno candidates for the election, Zahid said all state party chiefs had submitted their lists to BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak for vetting and approval.
